We will be carrying out essential work to replace ageing water mains around St Ives Road. This will help reduce leaks and provide a more reliable water supply for the future.
When and where will the work take place?
The work will take place on the B1040 St Ives Road, Papworth with a section of renewal being undertaken on Kisby’s End. Work will begin in Kisby’s End, progressing onto B1040 St Ives Road where work will start at the junction of the A1198 and Ermine Street North continuing along to just South of the junction with Church End.
Work is scheduled to begin on Monday 06th July 2026 and is expected to take approximately sixteen weeks to complete. Our teams will normally work between 7:30am and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. Occasionally, evening or weekend work may be required to reduce traffic disruption.
Will traffic be affected?
To complete the work safely, some temporary traffic signals will be in place on B1040 St Ives Road, that progressively move in 200m – 300m sections along the Highway.
