Terms and conditions

For complete details on leakage allowances, please refer to our Code of Practice for Leakage.

  • You must submit your application for a leakage allowance within 12 months from the date of the repair or replacement of the supply.
  • Only one water allowance will be granted in accordance with our leakage policy.
  • The leak or fault must be repaired within 30 days of when you first became aware of it.
  • We may provide you with an allowance for both the water and sewerage components, based on the excess charges on your account.
  • Allowances will be applied to only one bill.

We will not provide an allowance under the following circumstances:

  • If the leak has not been repaired
  • If the leak was caused by your negligence
  • If you were aware of the leak and did not report it to us
  • If the leak was caused by a third party
For example: Did you notice visible signs, experience pressure loss, receive information from Cambridge Water, or see a high bill?
If it wasn't Cambridge Water, please provide the plumber's or contractor's name and address.
Please be aware that if the leak is not repaired, we will not process your leakage questionnaire.
Enter your meter readings

Please provide two meter readings, one month apart, after the leak has been repaired.
Remember to only enter the black digits.

Was the lost water redirected back into a drain that connects to the public sewer?

Your allowance will be calculated based on your past average daily consumption (ADC) when that information is available. If there are no records of past consumption, the adjustment will be made according to the number of occupants. The ADC is determined using two meter readings from either the company or the customer, which must be at least one month apart.
