Water resources management plans 2024: Environmental assessment of plans, scoping consultation

We are currently undergoing work to prepare our next draft Water Resources Management Plan. In accordance with the Environment Agency planning guidelines, and the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Directive 2001, and Environmental Assessment of Plans And Programmes Regulations 2004, we are required to undertake an SEA of our Water Resources Management Plans.

The SEA provides information on the relative environmental performance of alternative options included in our WRMPs, to include in the decision-making process, when forming our future plans.

We are consulting on the SEA scoping report and methodologies, as per the regulations, for a period of five weeks, commencing on 22 April 2022.  These documents can be accessed by clicking the links below. The scoping report sets out the approach of the SEA of our next WRMP, which will in turn set out the strategy for maintaining reliable and resilient supplies for our customers.
