Cambridge Water is advising customers in Ramsey Heights and Ramsey St Mary’s that damage to a water main is affecting their supply.

The company apologises for any inconvenience this may cause and is using all resources available to restore the supply as quickly as possible.

This has been caused by a third party damage to the water main which runs alongside the B1040.

It is estimated the burst affects around 100 properties in the area and is likely to affect water supplies for the next few hours.

A spokesman for Cambridge Water said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Our employees and network partners are working on site and using all available resources to ensure the water supply is restored as quickly as possible.

“We will continue to update customers regarding the situation as more information becomes available.”

When the supply is restored, it is possible some customers may experience brown or milky water. This discolouration is caused because the water main has been disturbed. Customers are advised to run their cold water supply until the water runs clear.

Further details are available on our website www.cambridge-water.co.uk. Customers with any further concerns should contact Cambridge Water on 01223 706050.
