Ways to pay your bill
At Cambridge Water we offer a range of flexible ways for you to pay your bill.
- Direct debit: Paying by direct debit is simple, safe and convenient and allows you to spread the cost of your bills over the year. Once a year you will receive a statement detailing your schedule of payments. Should this payment arrangement change you will be notified at least 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. Customers who pay by direct debit receive an annual discount of £3, this will be credited to your next bill. You will also be automatically entered into two prize draws during the year. - Online: You can pay over the internet with your debit card free of charge using Giro bank's secure payment service. If you would like to pay you bill online please click here
- Telephone: You can pay by debit or credit card over the phone. Simply call 01223 706050. Please note we cannot accept American Express.
- Payment plan: Payment plans are designed to spread the cost of your water bill, making it more affordable. If you are a metered customer we estimate how much water you are likely to use over the coming year based on your previous consumption figures. If you are an unmetered customer we split your payments based on the rateable value of your property. Whether you are metered or unmetered we will also take into consideration any existing arrears or credit on your account, as well as any relevant personal circumstances. Using these figures we are able to calculate how much each instalment should be. Every year, we will review your payment plan to ensure your instalments reflect your bills. If you do not adhere to an agreed payment plan, the full balance of your account will become payable, and we will have to take action to collect this amount, not just the instalments you have missed. To manage your payment plan you can either pay by direct debit, or you can request a Payment card or a Payment book. Payment cards can be used at the post office. There is no charge for the service. Payment books work in a similar way to payment cards and you can use them at banks or send them by post to our offices at 90 Fulbourn Road, Cambridge, CB1 9JN. Please note some banks may make a charge for using this service
- Cash, cheque or postal order: Pay at the post office or a bank or send us your cheque or postal order payable to Cambridge Water. Our address is Cambridge Water, 90 Fulbourn Road, Cambridge CB1 9JN. Please do not send cash through the post. All of our payment methods are free of charge although some banks may make a charge.
