Unmetered charges 2018/19

Each year our water charges are fixed in agreement with a formula set by Ofwat, the Water Services Regulation Authority.

As a water only company we supply drinking water. Once the water has been used in your home or business it becomes wastewater, and this is the responsibility of Anglian Water, together with all issues relating to the drainage of rain or surface water. So that you only receive one bill Cambridge Water bills and collects wastewater charges on behalf of Anglian Water.

Calculating your unmetered bill

Unmetered customers pay a fixed amount regardless of how much water they use. This is made up of standing charges which are fixed charges for maintaining the water and wastewater supply to your property, and rateable value charges.

Your water rateable value charges are calculated by multiplying the rateable value of your property, for example £275, by the charge which has been set for each £1 of rateable value.

Surface Water Drainage

Wastewater companies make a charge for collecting the rainwater that runs from properties into the sewer. If the surface water from your property does not drain to the sewers, you may be entitled to pay a lower charge. For details you should contact Anglian Water

When to pay your bill

Your bill will be issued when you first move in, then every March.

The bill should be paid within 14 days of receipt unless you pay by instalments or Direct Debit
