Metered tariffs
These tariffs are available to customers who have a water meter.
- WaterSure
If you are on a low income Cambridge Water may be able to help by putting a limit on your charges for water and sewerage services. To be eligible you must meet the following conditions:
1) Have a water meter
and
2) Be in receipt of benefit or tax credits
Have either:
Three or more children under the age of 19 living in the household for whom the person receiving benefit also claims child benefit
Someone living in your household who has a medical condition which means they use a lot of extra water

- Aquacare Plus
If you are on a low income we may be able to help by reducing your charges for sewerage services. To be eligible you must meet the following conditions:
1) Have a water meter
and
2) Be in receipt of benefit or tax credits
Please note this tariff will only benefit you if the amount of sewerage you are billed for exceeds 67.5 cubic metres a year.
How does the tariff work?
Most customers pay a £75 standing charge for sewerage (£40 if you do not pay for surface water drainage). The Aquacare Plus tariff works by charging customers a higher standing charge of £128 (or £93 for people who do not pay for surface water drainage.) The amount customers pay for each cubic metre of sewerage is then lowered to 63p compared to the usual price of £1.42 (2010 - 2011 prices).
How much could I save?
To find out how much you can save you first need to know the amount of sewerage you are billed for on an annual basis (you can find this information on your metered bill). Using the Aquacare Plus comparison table you can see how much your sewerage bill will be on the standard tariff and how much it will be on the Aquacare Plus tariff. Please note under this tariff we are unable to backdate bills so the benefits will be applied to your next bill.

- SoLow
If you discharge less than 67.5 cubic metres of sewage a year into the sewers, you may find your bill is lower if you are on Anglian Water's SoLow rate. With SoLow, there is a 'no standing charge' tariff.

- Surface Water Drainage
If none of the surface water from your property drains into the public sewerage system, either directly or indirectly, you may be entitled to pay a lower standing charge.
Call Anglian Water's enquiry line on Freephone 0800 169 3271 to obtain an application form, or alternatively you can pick up a form from your local Citizens Advice Bureau.
