Water Quality
Cambridge Water prides itself on delivering some of the highest quality water to its customers.
Each year we carry out more than 25,000 tests on samples we have taken from treatment works, reservoirs and homes across the region.
Figures which appear in the Drinking Water Inspectorate's report for 2009, show 100 per cent met the stringent national and European standards covering safety, appearance and taste of drinking water.
On a typical day, Cambridge Water treats 72 million litres of water at 22 treatment works to make it clean and pleasant to drink. It is then supplied through 2300km of water mains to 300,000 people.
