These are simple devices that reduce the capacity of the toilet therefore using less water per flush.
All customers who request a free hippo or hog using the form below will be entered into a biannual draw to win a free iPod touch.
Please note that items will only be dispatched to properties in our customer area. If you live outside our area you may find that your local water company also provides these products free of charge.
How do I know whether to order a hippo or a hog?
Hippos save up to three litres of water per flush and hogs save up to one litre. If your toilet was installed before 1991 it will be nine litres in volume, or more. This type of toilet will work well with a hippo fitted.
If your toilet was installed between 1992 to 2001, it will be 7.5 litres in volume. This type of toilet will also work well with a hippo or a hog fitted.
If your toilet was installed after 2001, it will be six litres in volume (the current standard) and it should not be reduced further with any type of device.
