  Summary of special services

If you are elderly or disabled, please tell us so we can do our best to meet your needs. We have many special services designed to provide special help for you. Our staff are always ready to explain our services and help with more information.

Register with us

We have a register of customers with special needs. If you would like to be on this register and benefit from these services, please contact us at custservice@cambridge-water.co.uk or call 01223 706050.

You do not need to complete a form. All we need to know is your name, address, phone number and what service or services you require. If you are disabled, we will need only a small amount of information in order to ensure that we provide the full service you require.

The information that you provide is kept absolutely confidential. The register is made available only to those staff who need access in order to fulfil their role.

We will arrange for Cambridge Water staff calling at your home to use a password so you can identify them. You can choose the password and change it any time.

 

Some of our customers are entitled to special deliveries of water if we have to interrupt the water supply to their home. 

 
         
 
Understanding your bills
 
Reading the meter
 
 

All our bills and brochures are available in large print or Braille or on cassette. 

We can read the bill over the phone to you. We have a minicom line (TEL:  01223 40 30 98) so you can contact us about your bills. 

We are happy to send your bill to a friend or relative that you nominate.

 

If you cannot read your meter because it is in a location that is difficult to get to due to your disability, we will move it to a better position for you to read it. 

If you are blind or partially sighted, we can arrange for a meter reading service so you can check your own consumption in-between bills.

Advice and information
 
 

Our offices at Fulbourn Road, Cambridge have disabled parking facilities and wheelchair access.

 

 

Unfortunately, we cannot provide individual advice about appliances and adapta tions for your water units (e.g. taps, and plugs). However, we recommend that you contact your local Occupational Therapy Department, who can provide expert advice (and may be able to tell you about special grants that are available).

To speak to someone about the adaptions you need and to arrange for an occupational therapist to visit you, contact Cambridgeshire Direct on 0845 0455205 or visit their web site regarding housing adaptions.
